Sour Water Stripper + ThioSolv ATS as TG Scrubber

Expanding the ATS chemistry to scrub Claus tailgas:
  • diverts H2S from ATS to Claus feed equal to S in tail gas.
  • lowers the multiplier on “recycle” H2S by reducing CO2
 
Results are:
  • small reduction in AAG equivalent load on Claus.
  • reduced [SO2] in incinerator stack.
  • SCOT costs about $600 per ton of sulfur captured, compared to $120 for
  • ThioSolv’s ATS process
